Traveling the ROAD least TRAVELED!
WHO AM I?
Hi my name is Thomas and I am the President of One Family Media Group LLC; however there is so much more to me. I am strong-willed and determined.
My life has not at all been easy. Challenges have plagued me like a bad dream you just can't shake; yet I still see my goals through and refuse to quit. Those who know me can attest to this and that I am not a leader by training, but by experience.
I have started over many times and I have failed in MANY endeavors. Each endeavor has brought me a gift of knowledge and knowing is half the battle to success.
My First Job was as a Busboy at "SHONEYS" on Mountain Industrial PKWY in Stone Mountain GA. I quickly was promoted from Busboy to cook and eventually, server.
From 1987 to 1998 I’ve had many jobs. From Burger King, Krystal's, Yellow Freight, Pipe Fitters, Wendy's and 10 years at the Waffle House.
In 1998 I joined the United States Navy. I wish I could say I did it because I wanted to serve my country, but the truth is I had a recent break up, I was hurt, alone and had no idea what my life was worth. But let’s start this biography from the beginning.
In 1998 I joined the United States Navy as an Aviation Bostwin mate working the flight deck of the USS Wasp (LHD1)--this job gave me an appreciation for HARD WORK! Starting work in the dark and end work in the dark helped strengthen my work ethic. It makes you wonder where the day went, but I’d gladly do it again, because it made me the man I am today. I have traveled the world and have met some incredible people.
This experience has given me such an appreciation for my country. During my time in the military, I wrote, produced and directed a pilot television show "Bloodlines''. I was also accredited as writer, producer and director of several stage plays in San Diego, CA. During my years of services, I produced and directed multiple US Navy Training videos which gave me strong (on the job) experience in lighting, sound and cinematography.
In 1999 I was awarded a Navy Achievement Medal (NAM) for arranging a Gala in Portugal for Madalyn Albright.
Since leaving the Navy, I have tried my hand in many business ventures. From Commodities Broker to contractor, to my joint ventures in a tech company. Believe it or not, they ALL have led me back to the media industry. With my creative drive, knowledge of business and determined attitude. I am HOME!
